Get Ready for Neuroscience Nurses Week, May 17-23, 2009

Presented by AANN, the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing, and the Neuroscience Nursing Foundation, Neuroscience Nurses Week honors the commitment that neuroscience nurses dedicate to patients and families. Not only do these events bring neuroscience nurses together, but they also help increase exposure and heighten community awareness of the valuable contributions neuroscience nurses make year-round. The event possibilities and reasons to celebrate are endless, from luncheons to open houses to a dedicated Neuroscience Nurses Day. Join us in observing this special week dedicated to you and your colleagues, your patients, and their families. Let the celebrations begin!

Don't miss it free CE opportunities for AANN members only! From May 17 through May 23, CE will be free, representing a value of $7.50 per contact hour. CE offerings include the AANN Clinical Practice Guideline Series and 2009 Journal of Neuroscience Nursing articles.

The training for volunteers is April 28. They are especially in need of volunteers to be there at 6:00AM to unload the trucks for set up. Please email me at renee@spinenevada.com if you can volunteer, and the activity you’d like to do. They are also interested in nurses who could
man the booth where questions about MS are asked.

Orientation/Training (for volunteers):
28 April- 6 PM registration volunteers; 7 PM general training, at the MS office (4600 Kietzke)

Activities for Volunteers:
1) Set-up, rest stops, truck unloading, forklift driver (arrival @ 7:00 AM)
2) Food servers (arrival @ 7:30 AM)
3) Registration of Walkers (from 7:30 AM)
4) T-Shirt distributing (from 7:30 AM)
5) Teardown and clean-up (from 11:00 AM)
7) Parking lot attendants (from 7:00 AM)
8) Overall Volunteer check-in and coordinator at event (arrival @ 7:00 AM)
